Matty arrives at the office to find the executive committee in a total frenzy because a reporter called to investigate a violation regarding the Wellbrexa case. Senior’s ex-wife, Eva, a known shark in the industry, has arrived to oversee the fallout, and the company has brought in a security specialist named Wolf to find the leak. Wolf is a human lie detector who is well-versed in reading physical cues, so even though Matty’s family begs her to come home and leave the drama behind, Olympia desperately needs Matty’s expertise to survive her interrogation.
Matty coaches her on how to mask her tells, but Olympia fails the simulation woefully. During her actual interview, she slips up by mentioning she never spoke to the New York Times, even though the specific news outlet had never been disclosed.
The Fall of Mrs. Belvin

Panic sets in for Olympia when she receives a request for a second interview, but Mrs. Belvin ultimately saves the day. We already knew that Mrs. Belvin was the one who wrote the original Reddit post about the Wellbrexa file burying years ago, so even though she wasn’t the specific New York Times leak, she is ready to come clean about her past actions.
Olympia convinces Matty to persuade Mrs. Belvin to take the blame for the recent leak as well.
Matty plays on Mrs. Belvin’s desire to do the right thing, and the long-time employee takes the fall, resulting in her being fired after forty years of service without even a proper farewell. To make it right, Matty gives her the retirement party she deserves, and she and Edwin anonymously gift her $500,000 to ensure her golden years are secure.

With the leak investigation closed, Matty finally agrees to help Olympia take down Senior, but with strict conditions. This mission is about justice for her daughter, Ellie, and the victims of the opioid crisis. She demands that Julian take a plea deal and issue a formal apology to her, Edwin, and Alfie for his role in the original cover-up. Olympia agrees, but she has a new incentive because Eva wants to oust Senior and take over the company, and she asked for Olympia’s help.
Olympia identifies the woman Senior was with in Australia as Debra, a makeup artist. They don’t have enough leverage to approach her except Matty is already ten steps ahead. While helping Mrs. Belvin pack up her desk, Matty used her credentials to print out expense reports from the Australia trip. These documents provide an undeniable paper trail of everywhere Senior and Debra went, leaving no room for her to refute the affair or the timeline.
The Nanaroux Kitchen Dispute
The team handles a dispute between Nadine and her cousin Pierre over their restaurant, Nanaroux Kitchen. Nadine bought Pierre out because he cared more about profits than the honor of their grandmother’s recipe, but now that the business is booming, Pierre has opened a copycat shop.
The team tries to slap him with an injunction, but his lawyer proves acquiescence, which is a legal principle where a person loses their right to a claim because they essentially gave implied consent.
Pierre’s lawyer calls an aunt to the stand who reveals that during a heated family gathering, Nadine angrily challenged Pierre to try and build a better restaurant after he criticized her business model. This outburst made it look like she had given him permission to compete.
To nullify the acquiescence, the team pivots to proving Pierre had already started building his restaurant before the challenge was issued.
They subpoena everything down to his Instagram DMs to prove he was planning the shop long before the challenge, but the prospect of airing their family dirty laundry in public leads to a settlement. Matty realizes she can’t even tell the difference between the two chickens, which makes them agree to become partners again. However, Nadine’s face will remain the brand’s image to ensure she isn’t pushed into the background by Pierre’s business maneuvers.
The day ends on a surprisingly positive note for Matty’s family. Joey did not run away with the money Matty gave him; instead, he used it to check himself into a rehab facility, and this news makes Alfie incredibly happy.
